You asked for it…
I started life way back in 1956 born in Tottenham in London, England which explains why I support the mighty spurs (Tottenham Hotspur F.C.).
At the age of two we moved up north to Nelson – actually only 3 streets away from my good friend Imran Naseem except he wouldn’t be born for quite a few years yet!
We then moved to Blackpool when I was around 8 years old and I stayed there until I was 18 when I joined the Royal Air Force. I enjoyed my 6 years in the service and represented at football and athletics.
I then left to pursue a sales career and also worked in IT at various times up until I started my first business which was a fruit and vegetable mobile round. I expanded this into markets and ended up with two successful mobile rounds and several market stalls which I then sold to look at other options…this was around 1986.
I then had a few little business ideas in and around Blackpool, worked for a company as a sales manager and then moved to Liverpool when my first son was born to take a graduate computer course. I was recruited by Boots plc and we moved to Nottingham. I had two more children (or my wife did!) and went into freelance computer contracting all over the UK for different blue chip organisations.
I gave all of this up when I met my third wife (I like wedding cake) and set up my next business in 2000.
Thsi business was sold in 2004 and I started and sold a kitchen design and fitting business after which and I went back into direct sales for a while to see if I could still do it! I was the top saleman the first month there but I hated their high pressure sales methods so left to build my current offline client and online marketing business. This is thriving and I really enjoy helping local businesses to market their wares and services online in such a tough economic phase.
